I have had the pleasure of working next door to Tiffany Rolland for the past year. I have worked closely with her as the librarian and reading interventionist for Golden Empire Elementary School. My library is next door to her class, and thus I was able to observe her class many times in passing. The things I saw and heard often left me smiling from the joy coming from Ms. Rolland and her students.
One way I saw, or heard, Ms. Rolland help her students stay on task, was by singing during transition periods. While pulling out new books or papers from their desks, her class could often be heard singing. By the time the song was done, the students would be ready to work on their next activity. Not only did this help keep the students occupied and focused, it also helped them be more optimistic and excited for the upcoming task.
Ms. Rolland was constantly on the lookout for ways to make learning accessible for all students. When students were struggling or falling behind, she always found ways to help them catch up. One of the ways I saw her do this was when she helped a student with his reading and spelling. This student was far behind his peers in the subject matter. Instead of letting him get frustrated and giving up, Ms. Rolland found ways to make the experience more equitable for him. She would give him tests with word banks to help him. Instead of constantly failing every test, he began to advance in his knowledge and application of reading and spelling skills. By the end of the year he made vast improvements, and was able to narrow the gap between himself and his peers.
One of the things that stood out the most this year while teaching with Ms. Rolland was the joy she exuded in celebrating her student’s achievements. Her students knew how much she cared because of the excitement she showed them every time they succeeded. This led to all of her students making a connection with her. Watching her students come to her with their triumphs because they knew it would make her happy was a joy to see. In my 7 years working at this school, I don’t know that I’ve seen a class more excited to come to school and see their teacher than I saw this year with Ms. Rolland.
Working with Ms. Rolland this year has been a privilege. Her infectious joy and excitement in celebrating learning and achievement will be a beacon to those around her in her endeavors.
Sincerely,

Five-Star Recommendation for Tiffany Rolland
I had the pleasure of meeting Tiffany Rolland in the fall of 2022 at Caleb Greenwood Elementary School in Sacramento. At the time, she was working as a substitute teacher, and I was serving as a Registered Behavior Technician, supporting a student with Down syndrome one-on-one for the past three years.
Since our first meeting, I’ve had the opportunity to observe Tiffany in several classrooms she has managed. She consistently demonstrates exceptional qualities including gentleness, strength, fairness, open-mindedness, and a well-balanced temperament while teaching. Her natural ability to connect with students is truly a gift.
Working with children who have Down syndrome requires patience, consistency, and an understanding of their unique needs. These children often take longer to process directions and require a stable, supportive environment to thrive. Tiffany has a clear understanding of this. She supports my student by allowing him to work at his own pace, eliminating the power struggles that are common in such settings. Her approach fosters confidence and independence, which are essential to student growth.
I wholeheartedly recommend Tiffany for any position she feels qualified for. She consistently goes above and beyond expectations, and I am confident she will be a valuable asset wherever she goes. You will not be disappointed!
Kind regards,
Georgia Graham
